Salsa dancing hobby: I've been trying and trying...
But my Sims keep on getting the same old medals the whole time. Found 4 new trophies on the 1st day and only a couple of new ones during the last 3! I've been told that there's no trick to it but I see some of you have got the villa already and even started the breakdancing hobby.
My Sims have been dancing nonstop for almost the last couple of days, skipping work (and why I picked two of my top earning SIms to do this hobby I have no idea).. But.. Sigh. Should I be using the lucky spin?
Will I still be able to get the Villa wallpaper and flooring if I take more than 7 days to unlock all of the trophies?

Hello boulevardier,
I feel your frustration! My Sim couple spent days and hours on end doing the salsa and I kept getting the same trophies over and over again even when they were both a good way through level 5 of 6 (dancing dynamo). The bad news is that I had to use about 50 LP to finish the quest in time. Even worse, I then discovered that when I tried to build a villa on a premium lot that it would cost 175 SP to build. I don't have any SP as I don't use the social part of the game, so all that was for nothing.
Hopefully this might help as to whether you want to continue.
I don't know whether the wallpaper and flooring gets unlocked if you don't finish in time though, sorry.

Did these 50 LPs go to the lucky spin (sorry - I only started playing in Sep/Oct last year and have been very conservative in spending money and such! I have not even tried using luck spins for hobbies)?
I do social tasks so I might just be able to collect 175 SPs (and delay the houseboats!) but I don't think I can afford to spend so many LPs on salsa dancing I think I'll continue... conservatively...
Is it not possible to get all the trophies without spending LPs? Has anyone achieved this?

I used the 50LPs on the lucky spin to get the last 4 trophies.

I'm in the same salsa quandary. So far I have spent 50LP and still can't get the villa. Will EA make the villa avail for buying even for a gazillion simoleons if we failed during the time limit. I'm desperate. I only have 1 left trophy and can't get it. any tricks or exploits that would work? I paid all the LP in store so it's costing a lot this salsa thing

Before you do the lucky spin, save your game to the cloud (facebook or game center). After that, do the lucky spin, if you don't get the trophy you want, immediately do a reset and then download your saved game so that you can get back the LP.

Re: Salsa dancing hobby: I've been trying and trying...
Got it! I did not get a chance to try the previous cloud solution given but I tried this instead because I could not make my cloud connection work. The lucky spin at level 6 takes 6LP so it's quite expensive without the possibility of restoring. So, Instead try this:
The salsa jukebox allows 2 couples to salsa at the same time. This is not a very well known facts. So engage 2 couples in dancing all the time :
- Select 1 dancer and set him to wait for his partner
- Select his partner and start dancing a quick salsa
- Select the other main dancer and click on the jukebox. The choice will be to either cheer on or to wait for partner. Select wait for partner
- Now select this last dancer partner and click on the jukebox. You will see 3 choices: cheer on, quick salsa and extended mambo. Select quick salsa
You now have 2 couples dancing salsa foe 1.5 hour. If you want an immediate result (no point waiting once a couple is at level 6; they can't progress further and the luck of the draw is the same even if both couples are not at the same level) So you end the dance for 1LP and get the random result. Repeat for the 2nd couple.
And if you did not get the trophy you wanted simply restart both couples for another session of quick salsa that you kill immediately. Wash, scrub, rinse, repeat
The difficulty is making sure the partners are not mixed up. This strategy gives you 6 attempts for 6LP instead of 1 lucky spin of 6LP.
On the other hand I like the solution gives by bloodcool to use the cloud. Having 4 Sims constantly starting dancing in couple is a full-time job. Had I not got 2 more days before the dead end I believe using the cloud might prove better.

Or, save to the cloud, use the 1 1/2 hr option and use 1 LP to autofinish, and if you don't get the trophy you want, restore. That's a guaranteed cost of 1 LP instead of 6 LP per trophy required.

I used quite a few LP to finish the salsa dancing - but I did it by starting them dancing and then using 1 LP to finish quickly. I earned the LP by having my other sims working on figure skating, diving, fashion and woodworking continuously - every time I completed a set and had three more LP, I used them on the salsa. Took a while but I got all the trophies within the time limit.

Argh, these ideas never crossed my mind!
I didn't manage to finish on time; as it said to me in a notification "The Latin Villa has crumbled" :'( And it's probably the most artistically interesting house I've seen since I've been playing (about Sep/Oct last year)
